100 years after Sarajevo

On june 28th 1914 Archduke Francis Ferdinand heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne was assassinated in Sarajevo. This event forced the Austro-Hungarian empire to declare war on Serbia determining by all means  the start of World War I.
Exactly 100 years later on June 28th 2014, 17 European regions will sportingly battle in the woods of the Cansiglio Forest and through the city of Conegliano demonstrating that, after two world war Europe is finally united.

We already received the first registration from France and Hong Kong and the website has received visits from Finland, Russia, Germany and several other countries. Alpe Adria 2014 promises to be a big international event and we are giving  our best to make it also the most successful. Our desire is to use the Alpe Adria as a stepping stone to bigger and better events and reach year 2018 hoping to organize the ultimate sport festival commemorating the end of World War I.
